Nairobi Mon 24th April 2017…The Taskforce on Regulations to operationalize the new land laws kicked-Off Public Sensitization Sessions in Kisumu and Mombasa for external stakeholders Monday from both Nyanza and Coast regions respectively.The Kisumu team is led by Ms. Lucy Wanja,a legal advisor to the lands CS,Prof.Jacob Kaimenyi while the one for Mombasa is led by Ms. Pauline Muriithia, who is the deputy Chief Land Registrar.

The Task Force on regulations to operationalize the new land laws has developed a draft of the land laws for the public and other interested parties to interrogate and give their views and input. Both teams requested the external stakeholders to give their views  orally and also in written form to be consolidated in the draft which the Task Force will present to the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning, who will then present it to parliament for approval.

The Task Force is mandated to do a public participation workshop as it is a requirement of the constitution.

This exercise is expected to take place in all regions which include Nyanza ,Western,Riftvalley ,Coastal ,North Eastern and Central region .
